Who am I?
Well, that's a very deep question. I think I'm still trying to figure out the complete answer.
In the meantime...I am just like you: living my life, trying to be the best person I can be, and striving to be happy.
What Words Describe Me?
Daily I strive to improve my relationship with my Heavenly Father and with Jesus Christ. I am a voracious reader, and I love to study inspiring words from the Prophet, the Apostles, and other faithful people--and I love to share what I learn with others (hence the commencement of this blog). My beliefs permeate everything I do, think, and say; I am my faith.
As the primary children's song states, "I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know who I am, I know God's plan, I'll follow Him in faith."
I think I was born laughing. "Men are that they might have joy," the scripture says. And I believe that joy is invited into our lives when we see the good and have, as President Hinckley said, "a sense of good humor" about life. Be serious about sacred things that require reverence and contemplation...but then love life and laugh often! (Maybe I should market that...? Hmm....)
Comedian Carol Burnett said about life, "Comedy is tragedy plus time." I've experienced plenty of tragedy in my life, and I've wasted a lot of time wallowing in despair. It ain't fun. I'd much rather learn from life's tragedies and laugh. Laugh a lot. Laugh instead of crying. Laughter is the best medicine for everything.
I love people. Everyone has a story to tell, and I am grateful for the multitude of opportunities I have to listen and learn.
